NGUYEN DUC BATNGAN
Born in Thua Thien, Central Vietnam.
His first poem was written in 1964.
He has lived in exile since 1979

Although he has an extensive body of work, only four volumes
have been published thus far: Gia Tu An Phuc (with Mien Hanh & Tran
Huyen Thoai, 1970), Binh Minh Cam (1985),
Giua Trien Han Reo (1988), Tu Gia Ngay (1989). He is currently working
on his autobiography.

In his writing career, Nguyen Duc Batngan has been a well-known
literary figure of the modern Vietnamese Literature. His poetic
masterpieces are highly praised for their innovative linguistic creativity,
critics have called him a "magician of poetic language", a "sorcerer of
intonation" ... this is also what makes his poetry very complex to
translate
